Today, I needed to record IMAP sessions on my Microsoft Exchange 2003 server to debug a client.
You can enable session logging with the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\IMAP4Svc\Parameters
Two values control logging behavior:
- IMAP4 Protocol Log Level ->logging level (0 = disabled, 5 = maximum);
- IMAP4 Protocol Log Path -> folder logs will be saved in.
You have to restart Microsoft Exchange IMAP4 server.
In the specified folder, Exchange will create a logfile for each IMAP client:
