Over the past few months, I put all my experience with Citrix XenApp in a book, that has been recently published by Packt Publishing: Citrix XenApp Performance Essentials.
I hope this book will be a concrete help for all the system administrators who need to design, implement and optimize a XenApp infrastructure that performs well and can be scalable to adapt to new requirements.
The book (written in english) is available on Packt’s website and on many online stores (Amazon…).
Here’s the chapter list:
[checklist]
- Preface
- Chapter 1: Designing a Scalable XenApp Infrastructure
- Chapter 2: Monitoring and Improving Server Performances
- Chapter 3: Optimizing Session Startup
- Chapter 4: Improving End User Experience
- Chapter 5: Optimizing for WAN Links
[/checklist]
A particular attention was paid in pratical suggestions and in describing the new features of version 6.5; features very useful to improve the end-user experience (also with multimedia applications).
An entire chapter (chapter 5) is dedicated to the settings useful to improve the experience for mobile users or users connecting through wide-area-networks. The same chapter explains also how to simulate those links to perform lab tests similar to the real conditions.
Hi Luca,
My Italian is not so good, so a response in English as I wanted to let you know I read your book and love the detailed information you’ve added and the tool explanation you provided.
I will most definitely use your book as reference when designing and troubleshooting the XenApp infrastructures I run into at work.
Thanks for writing this book!
Esther,
thanks a lot for your feedback and your review!
