I chose, as power supply for my 3d printer, a common ATX power supply for desktop PCs. The Printrboard has a connector for the power supply’s 12V plug:
To turn the power supply on, you need to connect the green wire (PS ON) to a black one (ground). I therefore opened the power supply, cut the unneeded wires and joined the two mentioned above:
My power supply didn’t offer a power switch; I put one on the opposite side of the fan:
I then connected the switch to the socket and to the PCB, with the use of some faston connectors:
In the end, I protected the short wires using some hot glue and I connected the power supply to my Printrboard:
