Today, in the sixth episode of my tutorial about how to control a digital layout with Arduino, let’s learn together how to build Loconet sensors.
Sensors are for sure one of the most important elements for an automatic or semi-automatic management of a model railway. Their task is indeed to inform the command station or the software about what’s happening on the layout. This information is essential to take decisions (for example about which route the trains should follow) and to run actions (for example change a turnout or close a level crossing).
In the following videotutorial, we learn together which are the different sensors available to detect the presence of a train and how to use Arduino to send the sensors’ status on the Loconet bus… enjoy!
